Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) announce strong team to represent Australia at the upcoming IBF World Cup presented by QubicaAMF.
Female Team
- Chloe Clague: The 2022 Australian Master female champion has had a consistent year on the ranked event tour. Sporting a new last name (previously Jones), Chloe will be ready to put in a solid performance after representing Australia several times in junior, youth, and adult international competitions.
- Grace Fahy: After being re-instated to the National Training Squad early in 2022, the Bendigo product has stepped up her game on the youth-ranked event tour. A spectacular year on the lanes has seen Grace win two youth titles (Werribee Youth and Sydney Youth Cup) and a runner-up placing at the SA Youth before finishing runner-up at the inaugural TPL Wodonga Classic.
- Rebekah Martin: Capturing two women’s division titles in 2022 (Vic150 and NSW Open) has seen the hard-working 42-year-old rewarded with another Australian team selection. Following another Aussie representation at the World Games in Birmingham, Rebekah will be motivated and well equipped to take on the world’s best again.
- Bec Whiting: Another consistent year for the Victorian has seen performances netting two runner-ups (Queensland Ladies Classic and NSW Open) and a top-five finish at the Vic150. The reigning female World Cup champion in 2019 will be motivated to make her mark in the newly formatted event and represent the country for the first time since the World Women’s Championship in Vegas in 2019.
Male Team
- Jason Belmonte: It’s nearly certain that the boy from Orange will win his seventh PBA Player of the Year Award after another stellar PBA season in 2022. The proud Australian will be itching to don the green and gold for the first time since 2017’s World Combined Championships in Vegas and strive for a medal on home soil.
- Sam Cooley: What an incredible two years for the bowler from Shellharbour in New South Wales. Following a stunning Gold medal at the World Games in Birmingham this year, Cooley also showed his talent at home, finishing runner-up at the Australian Open and Melbourne Tenpin Cup before being crowned back-to-back champion at the NSW Open.
- Adam Hayes: Following his Australian debut in 2017 in Vegas, Hayes has become a consistent selection for Australian representation after appearances at 2018’s World Men’s Championship in Vegas and 2019’s Asian Adult Championships in Kuwait. Following a spectacular Australian Open title earlier in the year, 2022 has been another consistently ranked event season for the much-loved figure in the bowling community and rewarded with another Australian cap.
- Jarrod Langford: Nicknamed the ‘King in the North, the boy from Burdekin has had yet another impressive year on the lanes. After winning his third straight Melbourne Tenpin Cup and the inaugural TPL Wodonga Classic title, Langford will be excited to represent the country for the first time since 2018’s World Men’s Championship in Vegas.
The IBF World Cup presented by QubicaAMF will take place from 11-23 November at Suncity Tenpin Bowl on the Sunshine Coast.
This year’s World Cup will be the first conducted using a new format adopted by the IBF.
Re-launched as the ‘best team event in the world’ the IBF World Cup will see federations working individually and as a team to create epic battles between nations with the format making every game matter.
